10 months to go...

It's 10 months today until the Brighton Marathon 2012.  It will be my 14 marathon (2 of which were ultras) and I know it will be my toughest yet.  Not so much the race itself, but being able to fit the training with so much else going on!  My second (and last!) baby was born in March, and I have only been running a handful of times since.  Tonight I ran 4 miles and although it wasn't too bad, it was certainly much harder than a little 4 mile run used to be!

A little bit about me then...

I'm 32, married to a wonderful man called Richard and I have two gorgeous young sons - Miles, who was 2 last month and Isaac, who is 14 weeks old today.  Before I became pregnant with my Miles running was the biggest thing in my life (besides family and friends)...that and music.  I ran 6-7 days a week, often twice a day as my job, being a Personal Trainer, required me to keep very fit.  Plus, I LOVE running.

After having Miles I did get back to doing some running but no where near as much as I used to.  It was partly not being able to fit it in around family life, and partly not wanting to devote much time to it anymore.  I didn't want to miss out on any family time with Miles and Richard because I was out running 20+ miles every Saturday and Sunday!  I ran the first Brighton marathon in 2010 when Miles was 11 months old and it was my slowest yet...but also the least well trained for.  Shortly after that I got pregnant with Isaac.

I'm now starting to run again when I can and have a place in the Brighton marathon next year to train for.  However, I have also applied to do a Diploma in Hypnotherapy which will start at Guildford Uni in September!  So come September between my family, study and trying to get marathon fit again I am going to be extremely busy!
